  • ½ lb lump crab meat
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp sherry or white wine (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter. Add onion and garlic; sauté until soft.
  2. Stir in flour and cook for an additional 1–2 minutes until lightly golden.
  3. Gradually whisk in seafood stock and mix in tomato paste until combined.
  4. Add heavy cream, milk, paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Mix in chopped shrimp and crab meat; cook for an additional 5 minutes until heated through.
  6. Adjust seasoning with sherry or wine if desired; serve hot garnished with fresh parsley.
