Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (plus extra for coating)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Optional: 1 cup finely chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, ground cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the creamed butter until just combined. If using nuts, fold them in gently.
  4. Scoop out tablespoon-sized balls of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet about an inch apart.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden on the bottoms.
  6. While warm, roll each cookie in a mix of powdered sugar and cinnamon for an extra sweet finish.
